BLISS LAU SPRING/SUMMER 2014 COEUR NEW YORK

BLISS LAU SPRING/SUMMER 2014 COEUR NEW YORK

A wardrobe of jewelry.

Half Chinese and half American Bliss Lau’s internalized combination of two cultures manifests itself in each concept, thought, and creation in her collection. Raised in Honolulu, Hawaii and educated in New York City at Parsons School of Design, her first collection was a group of leather handbags all patterned after the outline of an eye. Four years later, in her exploration of the manipulation of form, Bliss transformed her collection to the trademark body jewelry of today, using chains as lines to draw on the body.

A second skin.

Inspired by the combination of poetry by Anais Nin and the structure of the Brooklyn Bridge, the Bliss Lau Fine collection is the full expression of jewelry for the body. Consisting of a combination of fine metals that encircle the form, bodychains are worn directly on the skin or under the clothing as if it were lingerie. Each new collection is forged through the experience of the last, thus her commitment to continuous progression and growth is expressed through the interchangeable aspect of styles such as the Kaleidoscope and Fathom rings.

A combination of soft and hard, positive and negative, and the idea of sensual armor are the essences of the Bliss Lau collection.

All designs are created and made in the USA. Bliss Lau currently lives and works in New York City.
