As Catherine André philosophy is to be beyond time, to be multi-cultural,to go deeper and closer to the brand DNA it was inspiring and obvious to mix Alexandra David Neel (ADN …DNA…), Pierre Soulages and Wes Anderson. A.D.N because she was a woman of an attitude in front of life …she has been amongst the most unique ,independant women, the most extraordinary and unconventional travellers and thinkers or just …human beings of the early 90s. Pierre Soulages , because he was born in Aveyron (Catherine’s home region) and in his way , he followed the same track as Alexandra , going deeper and deeper into his own technique like a monk Wes Anderson’s movies remind us of Hergé’s comics strips (Tintin & Milou , Quick & Flupke…) and always departs from the usual tracks. All settings , the story , scripts , colour atmosphere …are meticulously pictured, characters are all picturesque .The story is light , absurd,hilarious but always serious.That’s why his last movie « the grand budapest hotel » was inspiring.A.D.N. could have stayed there , with her scrapbooks, her pencils and incredible and heteroclite wardrobe made of strict clan tailor suits , long straight skirts and fitted mohair jackets but also oversized mongolian coat , wide ethnic dresses and woolen long skirts, felted chinese army suits and gorgeously coloured scarves and stoles from far east tribes
