THE DESIGN

Fay Andrada applies the functional principles of graphic design and her own reductionist aesthetic to making jewelry. The pieces are made primarily of alloys (brass, silver, and bronze) that are shaped into distinctive forms using hammers, files, and flame.

While committed to creating iconic shapes, we also embrace the imperfection of the human hand and cede subtle textures to the metal medium. The intent is a style that is smart and singular with a minimalist motif that does not sacrifice imagination or beauty.

FAY ANDRADA
Fay Andrada discovered metalsmithing in Portland, Maine, after nearly a decade of work in digital design at MTV and ad agencies in New York City. Fay has earned degrees in Communication and Graphic Design from New York University and the London College of Communication, respectively. Metal jewelry was the instant marriage of her industrial sensibility and her uncommon aesthetic, born of a multi-cultural upbringing and life in New York, Maine and abroad.
