MOTHER OF PEARL SPRING/SUMMER 2015 LONDON FASHION WEEK

SANDIE SHAW, Kitchen Sink Dramas, Georgy Girl – it was a style trip back to the Sixties that underpinned the Mother of Pearl aesthetic this season, combined with the label’s natural sports-casual notes. Add to that a collaboration (MoP loves to collaborate) with painter Chris Moon for prints, the launch of a brand new bag range (leather clutches adorned with embellishment), and a team-up with jeweller Alexis Bittar and you have it made. “The brand’s tie to the art world has intrigued me from the day Maia Norman conceived the line. We worked to fuse a collection fusing jewellery rooted strongly in the Fifties but with a serious nod to a surreal context,” noted Bittar of his input.
