PETER PILOTTO AUTUMN/WINTER 2015-16 READY-TO-WEAR LONDON

IT started with board games for Peter Pilotto and Christopher de Vos. “We were fascinated to rediscover them and liked the art and graphics used in them,” the duo enthused backstage. This youthful and playful discovery certainly seemed to have given them a spring in their step – positively galloping out as they did to take their bow.

“It’s always about the layout, the dynamics, so things like the dice are great to put on clothes,” said de Vos. And it was very clear here that this was a collection they’d had fun with.

Neon brights – of pink and yellow and green and blue – comprised the colour palette to depict shiny Connect 4 counters and mazes, pinball-inspired circuits and later snowflake motifs that glistened down tight pencil skirt and fitted top silhouettes, or winter white and graphically appliquéd coats.

It felt playful and fresh from this pair, an overall lightness in colour creating an ease to shapes where in the past they may at times have been trickier.
