PRINGLE OF SCOTLAND AUTUMN/WINTER 2015-16 READY-TO-WEAR LONDON

PRINGLE OF SCOTLAND’s creative director Massimo Nicosia continued his study into texture at the brand’s autumn/winter 2015 show this evening. The artistic backdrop of the Serpentine Sacker Gallery was fitting, given the artisanal approach of the collection. Raised bouclé, burnout velvet, wavy-ribbed wools and panelling loomed large, with its signature twinset getting the treatment with oversized beading. Hemlines were knee-length and trousers slim-fit, creating long and lean proportions, which were helped by mile-long scarves wrapped around the neck and plunging to the floor. It was a solid outing – one that was neatly given context by the retrospective of the label’s history that we were treated to before the show, showing the ever-prevalent thread linking its past and present.
