Hailing from two realms of the creative spectrum, designers and best friends Adrian Norris and Edwina Robinson created Aje – an Australian womenswear label dedicated to crafting accessible luxury for fashionable, strong, elegant females with adventurous spirit. Born in the Winter of 2008, following Adrian’s exit from an acclaimed Venetian Art School and Edwina’s departure from eponymous fashion magazine RUSSH, the label’s creations illustrate a pure reflection of the duo’s learnings and background. The like-minded pair have a devotion to hand-loomed and hand-woven fabrications, hand-sequined embellishments, and hand-painted prints inspired by the rugged beauty of their childhood homes on Australia’s coast. Eight years on and hailed as Australia’s answer to the Isabel Marant style phenomenon, Aje is a leading Australian fashion house boasting a major fashion movement in its home country and overseas. A label synonymous with effortless glamour, tough femininity and dishevelled elegance, Aje has stand-alone stores in Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne and will soon open their fifth store in the decadent surroundings of Sydney’s Strand Arcade. Their large celebrity fan base, both internationally and locally includes Kate Moss, Madonna, Beyonce, Kylie Minogue, Rose Byrne, Rosie Huntington-Whitely, Jessica Hart, Phoebe Tonkin, Delta Goodrem and Jennifer Hawkins.
