About the designer: Anita Arzé was born in New York and raised in Los Angeles while spending summers in Bolivia visiting her grandparents. She dug into her cultural roots and drew upon the hand-craftsmanship of Bolivian knitting for the basis of her eponymous line of knits. When she decided to launch her line she knew she wanted to access all the craft available where her parents grew up.
Borrowing the knit patterns seen in colorful traditional South American ponchos and wraps she interprets the knit techniques and creates modern styles and silhouettes. Arzé not only uses elements from modern culture to express her ideas, but reaches toward deeper inspiration that is socially and ecologically conscious.
