A story that hangs by a thread, little bits of wool. A tale sawn with travels,
adventures, stories, meetings, knitted dreams.
Catherine will let her literary studies take her to the insular
and virgin Irish lands… In her discovery of the landscapes,
punctuated by the rhythm of the lights, tinted with mischievous
changing shapes, Catherine, bewitched, lets a range of colours burst out,
their note a revelation of her colourist soul. During her wanders, she loses
herself in the wool workshops and discovers the rich and
noble virtues of this material.
Her misty creativity, whirlwind of stitches, colours and volumes, brings
her to Art studies. From the intimate workshops to the vertiginous museums
or winding galleries, where artists’ souls lay naked, she weaves connections.
From the contemplation of painted or sculpted works of arts, figurative
or abstract… her creations and her notion of “Histoires-à-porter”
(Tales to wear) : wool yarns are weaved along adventures, memories
or legends to create jacquards unique each time, written on knitting
machines in stitches that waltz together on a background of eclectic
inspirational musics. Each piece from her collections is like a page
from a book, numbered and unique, in limited edition, a shelf novel.
Her collections are volumes, stops and wonderful discoveries
of an endless journey… A best seller…
In 1995, a magical technician, she founds her own House with quality
as the prevailing concept. Her boat sails the seas, like a merchant ship
which crosses seas and oceans to conquer each continent.

Stitchwork has its story, universal and timeless…
Its storyteller, Catherine André…
