CRISTINA ZAZO FALL/WINTER 2014 COEUR NEW YORK

“As long as I can remember, I can see myself drawing at the park in the sand, while playing with my sisters, and later on the walls and furniture at home.”

Cristina Zazo studied fine arts at the Complutense University in Madrid. During her last years of studies, she discovered a new way of expressing herself creatively. Fashion design soon became a mysterious and attractive endeavour for her.

Soon she decided to work in a more personal manner, rather than the general perspective she had been working from until then. At this point she earns a degree in Fashion Design and a Masters in Accessories. Then she begins to study jewellery design.

Cristina then comes to the realization that creating jewellery is her true vocation. She creates two exclusive collections for the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum in Madrid. At this time, she also creates her first collection, “Enma”.

The concept of the trademark is based on the creation of completely original pieces of jewellery, created with both a modern and timeless sense of creation. Her inspiration comes from art, vintage jewellery and both plant and animal forms which are then put together in a cotemporary way.

All the jewellery components are carved and handcrafted meticulously by the designer herself, in Spain, in an artesanal manner with absolute attention being paid to every detail.
