International inspiration can come off as kitschy when done poorly, but thankfully that was not the case at VFW. All plaid EVERYTHING for Grandi’s Atelier collection where each piece fit the models so perfectly it was as if they were custom-made for each model. In an adorable twist, models wore brooch-like necklaces backwards while walking the runway. Sunny’s Bridal hand-woven fabrics and heavy embellishments showcased the designer’s attention to detail and closed the show with chef and tv personality, Vikram Vij strutting down the catwalk. Crowd favourite Shravan Kumar and Crystal Commerce opened their shows with “Instagram-worthy” dancing and children in traditional Chinese attire respectively.
