Derek Lam is an American fashion designer based in New York.

Born in San Francisco, California, Derek studied in New York City at Parsons School of Design.

In 2003, Derek and his partner, Jan-Hendrik Schlottmann, founded the collection.

In 2011, Derek Lam 10 Crosby was launched as a contemporary collection.

“I am interested in how fashion is relevant to living a contemporary life. I always consider what will work for people at this moment, and to me this moment is about luxury without formality. Sensual, understated, thoughtful and intelligent are qualities I consider in my designs.
