Take your mind back to 1977. Picture the scene. Maurizio and Isabel Garcia working away at their labour of love – their small jeans factory in the lively medieval town of Urbania in the heart of Italy. Craftsmen in heart and soul, with a creative spark, designing and producing their range of denim models.

Then along come a couple of Dutch guys from Garcia looking around for a good quality jeans supplier. They get together with our aspiring, hard-working couple in Italy and they quickly start to develop a relationship – a synergy of Dutch business and Italian style. Within no time, this fruitful partnership comes up with a couple of great denims. The hard work is done as two perfect models roll off the production line. But, hey, what about a brand name? Something simple yet catchy. It’s right under their noses – Isabel’s surname. The Garcia brand is born.
