OLAF HUSSEIN SPRING/SUMMER 2015 MAN TOKYO
Amsterdam-based designer Olaf Hussein channels mod style in his Spring/Summer 2015 collection, which was recently presented at Mercedes-Benz Fashion week in the designers’ hometown. Full of understated essentials with contemporary modish twists, the collection aims to “make a strong first impression rather than a bold statement.”
Hussein’s aesthetically sleek, grown-up permutations of standard denim and skillfully tailored, refined takes on hoodies and tees certainly do make a stylish statement. Though the collection is inspired by the fashion forward men of the 1950s, the designer manages to infuse modern details via the use of bonded fabrics, drawstring hems, seam sealing tape, and timely updates on traditional menswear collars and shirt bodies.
