PAUL COSTELLOE AW15’16 LONDON FASHION WEEK
PAUL COSTELLO presented an extensive collection of what could aptly be described as kooky-country chic this afternoon. With a distinct retro nod to the Eighties, velvet, tweed and mohair textures came in ruffled necks, dropped-bell sleeves and tiered hemlines in varying oversized shift-dresses, off-the-shoulder, and enveloping coat silhouettes. Two-tone colourways of emerald greens mingled with mustard, and deep maroons dominated before it became a rainbow of jolty fuchsias and citrus brights, which were played out in sleeker pencil skirts but keeping the volume up top. Texture was the hero here, with matalasse, wool-crepe, raised boucle and all-over bead embroidery lifting each look.
