Odile Benjamin found herself in a “big city lights” state of mind for pre-fall at Raoul, a vision most evident in her use of oversize rhinestone appliqués on evening gowns and geometric “highway” prints on dresses and skirts. Tones of blue, red and yellow conveyed a fall sensibility, though even traditionally cold-weather knits like alpaca and tweed had a lightweight feel. Gaucho pants, done in burgundy suede and printed silk, anchored the looks with a cool sense of proportion, while a tweed dress finished off with fringe detailing and an asymmetric hemline was fun yet polished.
